Russbach is a small village with 800 inhabitants between the Dachstein mountains and the famous city of Salzburg. Rußbach enjoys clean air, clear water and a fog free view over the "wonderfully walkable" mountain panorama.
Waiting for you is an endless network of paths and trails. They range from: strolls across alpine pastures over summits with splended views, to high alpine mountaineering.

With the Russbacher Hornbahn you reach the top of the "Hornspitz" mountain in the excellent Hiking Resort Dachstein-West . There you can enjoy a trip with the Bummelzug (Road train) to the Edtalm, where a heartly snack and music await you.
The cable car Russbacher Hornbahn operates from July to the beginning of September on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. June and end of September every Wednesday. The way is also for buggies!

Jungbrunnenweg in Russbach
Our best known footpath takes you into the world of healing herbs, orchids and many other of nature`s treasures. Children`s play stations and a small Kneipp (experience) area make the trip to the Jungbrunnenweg a true journey for body and soul. [ zum Jungbrunnenweg ]
 | | Snailfossile stones from the valley of Fossils
Russbach is well known as an outstanding area for fossil collectors. There are fossil "finding places" in the Snail Wall and in the many streams. The fountain near the church is built of Snail Stones. All of the stones were found in the Russbach Snail Wall and in the streams in the local area.

- Bodenberg, beautiful hiking tour on the impressive mountain - walking time 2 hours
- Mountain pasture walking: varied circular walk from the Traunwandalm to the Rinnbergalm - walking time: 4-5 hours
